Urgent requests for an appointment on the day will be required to go through our AI triage system.  You can access the triage tool in a number of ways:

o   Clicking on the “request an urgent appointment” link above

o   Scanning the QR code

o   Telephoning reception

o   Via the reception desk at any of our sites

All requests for an urgent appointment will take you to Visiba Care via your NHS App.

o   You will be asked a number of questions regarding your symptoms

o   Once completed you will need to submit your request

o   Your request will be reviewed by our Duty GP

o   You will then be contacted by a receptionist to book your appointment

Please note:  Our reception team can complete the AI request to Visiba on behalf of those patients without access to a smart device.

NHS App

The NHS app lets you book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions and set up medication reminders on your smartphone.

You can add family members to the app to help you take care of them, too.

Extended Hours Clinics for evening and weekend appointments:

We hold clinics outside of our usual working hours to improve accessibility for patients.  We provide additional clinics Monday evening, Tuesday morning, Wednesday evening, Thursday morning and Saturday morning.   Patients from either surgery can book into the clinics at either site. We are pleased to offer both GP and Nurse appointments at these clinics.

Saturday morning surgery from 09:00am - 12:00pm is for pre-booked appointments only. This is not an emergency surgery.  This clinic is alternated between the Firs Surgery and Newick Health Centre.

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:30 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. Persistent defaulters may be removed from our patient list.
